The Neighbourhood 2021

Formed in Los Angeles in 2011, the Neighbourhood is a neo-pop-rock band made up of singer Jesse James Rutherford, guitarists Jeremy Freedman and Zach Abels, bassist Michael Margott, and drummer Brandon Fried. They create moody music inspired by hip-hop, electronica, and alternative rock that also pays tribute to ‘90s alt-rock. Their cross-pollinating sound is delightfully atmospheric and catchy as heard in their breakout single “Sweater Weather.”

The Neighbourhood first gained attention online with their EP I’m Sorry… which was offered as a free download. Read More ...

  1. Standout Performances

The Neighbourhood is just one of the many ‘90s-reminiscent to emerge in modern music. They found early success through their online releases before being picked up by Columbia Records. Quickly, after the release of just two EP’s, they took to touring. They performed at Coachella while promoting their debut album I Love You. Later that year, they opened for Imagine Dragons, headlined Toronto’s Edgefest, performed at Canada’s largest festival, Osheaga, and played at Atlanta’s Music Midtown. In 2015, the Neighbourhood embarked on a European tour and an American tour to support their second album Wiped Out!. The group continues to tour, primarily around the time of album releases.

The Neighbourhood has established themselves as a favorite among fans of alternative music. Their range of genre influences makes them appealing to all music lovers though. They have a major online presence but tour extensively after releasing a new album. Tickets to see the Neighbourhood live in concert are, therefore, harder to come by, so you need to be on your toes.

SeatRetriever helps notify you of new tour dates for your favorite artists. Be among the first to get your tickets to see the Neighbourhood perform on stage. Whether it’s a tour for one of their new albums or it’s a set at a festival, don’t miss out on seeing the indie-pop band up close and in person.

    What Stands Out

In more recent years, there are numerous bands who merge themes from hip-hop, alternative rock, and electronica to create a new wave indie-rock sound. Yet, the Neighbourhood were some of the first. They rose to fame through their online presence, and, even after success touring venues and music festivals, maintain their internet following. Their initial EP was released as a free download in 2012, and they repeated the generosity in 2014 with the release of a mixtape titled. It featured guest appearances by YG, Dej Loaf, French Montana, Danny Brown, G-Eazy, and others. The group tours less often than other artists of similar fame, which simply increases the demand and urgency to seem them live in concert when they do go on tour. The group has played at a wide range of music festivals in North America, and they have been featured on television as well. In 2013, they performed “Sweater Weather” on Jimmy Kimmel Live, and, subsequently, have had songs featured in The Vampire Diaries, The Amazing Spider-man 2, The Equalizer, and Waterloo Road.

American rock band, the Neighbourhood has always made a point to set themselves apart. Their name, in fact, is the British spelling of the word neighborhood for that reason alone. They do not perform live often, so music fans need to remain aware and ready in order to buy their tickets when available. Pay attention to upcoming music festivals especially, since there’s always a chance the Neighbourhood makes an appearance.
