The South Seizes Opportunity
Rising out of the deep south, the Zac Brown Band has been able to achieve success unique to their country music counterparts. Instead of aiming to reach the pinnacle of mainstream country music proper, they have found deep-rooted fame and fan-love through their opportunistic live shows and unlikely musical collaborations.
Even before they made it big, the band toured heavily. In 2002, they scheduled around 200 performance dates. Needless to say, their hard work paid off. Since then, the Zac Brown Band has performed the National Anthem at the 2013 BCS National Championship Game, the 2013 NFC NFL Championship game, and the 2014 NHL Winter Classic. They have also made appearances at the Hangout Music Festival, Hullabalou Music Festival, and the Bonnaroo Music Festival. They performed some of their most notable shows at Red Rocks Amphitheater in 2013, where they played three consecutive days to sold-out crowds.
Furthermore, the Zac Brown Band has collaborated with the Dave Matthews Band (opening for them during a 2010 tour), Sheryl Crow (as a guest vocalist for “Homesick”), Dave Grohl (who played drums for the bands during the CMAs), and Lil Dicky (for the single “Earth”).

In 2004, Brown and his father opened a restaurant in Georgia called “Zac’s Place.” When a developer bought the institution, Brown was able to fund his band’s first official tour bus. He also owned a major stake of Z. Brown Distillery (originally known as Stillhouse Creek Distillery).
Additionally, the Zac Brown Band has had songs played on the TV show Nashville, on Animal Planet’s Treehouse Masters, and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Since 2009, the band has earned over 55 award nominations from the Grammys, Academy of Country Music, American Music Awards, Country Music Association, and Country Music Television, and they’ve won eight of those nominations.
