FC Cincinnati 2021

The newest team to MLS is also one of the youngest. Initially formed in 2016 in the USL (tier two), the club quickly caught on with the local community and became one of the hottest soccer teams in the country. Despite being in the second division FC Cincinnati was one of the top five most attended teams in America, setting USL records and topping the majority of MLS clubs. The team and their fanbase’s energy quickly led to an expansion spot in MLS for the 2019 season. The club goes by the nickname the ‘Orange and Blues’, as well as Fussball Club Cincinnati which is a call to the city’s German heritage and a historical style of the team name in Germany. Upon arrival in MLS Cincinnati already had an in-state rival in Columbus Crew. The two sides first met in a U.S. Open Cup tournament match in 2017 and is already one of the best league rivalries.Read More ...
