The Michigan Wolverines have one of the best traditions in all of college football. And the Maize and Blue are responsible for some of college football’s greatest moments. There was the great Heisman pose in 1991: when Desmond Howard, after breaking a punt return for a touchdown against Ohio St., broke out the pose that would prove prophetic for the 91 Heisman winner. Another punt return in 1997 helped Michigan claim its first national championship in 49 years. This one was by Charles Woodson, and it also helped the Wolverines beat Ohio State (and it helped Woodson win the Heisman, the only defensive player to do so).
