The UCLA Bruins have one of the richest traditions in all of college football. And while, historically, the Bruins greatest exploits have been on the hardwood, UCLA has also produced great moments on the gridiron. There was the 1976 Rose Bowl when the UCLA Bruins upset the unbeaten and heavily favored Ohio St Buckeyes 23-10. Another Rose Bowl upset happened in 1966, when unbeaten Michigan St’s Bob Apisa was stuffed by a host of Bruins (including 5’8 Rose Bowl MVP Bob Stiles) on a two-point conversion to secure the 14-12 victory for UCLA. And then there was the 2006 matchup with USC. The Trojans were on their way to the BCS championship game with a win. But the 6-5 Bruins would not let the high powered Trojans get on track all day. Eric McNeal’s interception with 1:10 to play secured the 13-9 upset.
